Recreational Parent FAQ's

What are dates of play?

  • The Spring session runs May-June
  • The Summer session runs July-August

What should I wear/bring?

  • Wear appropriate soccer attire - cleats, shin guards, shorts, socks
  • Full uniform to be worn on game days
  • Bring a fully inflated soccer ball
  • U4/U5/U6 size 3 ball
  • U7+ size 4 ball
  • Plenty of water/ sport drinks to cover entire soccer time

What fields will my child be playing on?

  • Most at Kingston, other nearby fields can be used such as Highlands and West Draw.

What does a typical game look like for my player?

U4/U5/U6: (3v3  & 4v4 no goalie) no referee

  • 4 x 6 minute quarters (1 minute water breaks between quarters)
  • Kick ins will be used
  • Coaches are on the fields

U7/U8:  5v5 (4 field players and a goalie) no referee

  • 4 x 10 minute quarters- (2 minute water breaks between quarters)
  • NO coaches on the field
  • Kick ins will be used instead of throw ins

U9/U10: 7v7 (6 field players and a goalie)  1 center referee

  • 2 x 25 minute halves (5 minute water breaks at the half)
  • Coaches stay on sideline

U11/U12: 8v8 (7 field players and a goalie) 1 center referee, 2 line referee

  • 2 x 25 minute halves (5 minute water breaks at the half)
  • Coaches stay on sideline

ALL GAMES MUST END ON TIME!
