Hey everyone!
Wow, the spring / summer season came and went in the blink of an eye. First off, I would like to thank all of the coaches of all levels who donated their time, money, and knowledge to help make the kids in our community better soccer players and better people. Each of you play a pivotal role in the kids’ development and your efforts do not go unnoticed. Secondly, I would like to thank all of the parents and other family members for supporting the coaches, players, and officials in many different ways. Also, big thanks go out to the board members and all other volunteer’s; they do a great deal of work to make sure our community has a club to be proud of.
Now the fall season is upon us! The fall is a great time to be in Minnesota and a great time to be playing soccer. The season is quite short, but there is a lot of training options that get crammed in. I have sent out the training schedule to all the coaches, if you have not received it, I will post it in a new tab on the front page of this website.
Winter training is just around the corner; please keep checking back to this site for information. I am currently trying to implement some very cool programs that will be brand new for Cottage Grove United. I am hoping to offer futsal training, futsal league, a street soccer camp, and a soccer-tennis tournament. All of that will be in addition to the usual team training that will be offered. It is a great time to be part of CGU.
Please continue to check the website and this page as many opportunities will be communicated here.
Thanks for all your support, good luck in your club and high school fall seasons!
What a FANTASTIC way to start the month of May. After months of work behind the scenes from everyone in the club except me; Running With The Wolves took place. First off, great job Dave Gutzman! It was the best ran tournament I have ever witnessed and fortunately we got exceptional weather. I have to thank the board and our volunteers for a fantastic experience. I would also like to thank all the CGU teams who took part, and all the clubs who sent teams from other areas. I would also like to thank you to the referees who were out on the fields constantly and kept our players safe.
I was very happy with the actions of all our coaches along with the coaches from all the other clubs; we were good coaches, good people, and great role models. The facilities were first class and I have to thank the city who maintain the fields and Mike Buth who went over and above his responsibilities to make sure our tournament was the best it could be. Below are the positions our teams finished, well done players, coaches, and parents!
U12 Boys / Valento - 1st Place

U17 Boys / Bonacorda - 1st Place
U11 Girls / Abrahamson - 3rd Place

Once again thank you very much to everyone involved, I am very proud to be associated with such a great club and a great community. If anyone has pictures from the weekend please send them to doc@cottagegrovesoccer.org and we can use them for the website. See you all on the pitch.

We want our players, parents, and coaches visiting our site regularly. It is a great time to be part of our community. There is so many things going on behind the scenes and in the upcoming weeks you will be hearing about some new partnerships and ventures. Please keep checking the website for updates.
