Summer Season Information

Schedule of Events 2012

 
July 21st - Kickoff Festival
July 23th -28th : Practice Week
July 30th -August 2nd : Game 1
August 6TH -9TH : Game 2
August 13th -16th : Game 3 and Game 4
August 18th : Family Day/ Picture Day Game 5
August 20th -23th : Games 6 and 7
August 25th - 30th : Games 8/pending School Open House date
September1st- 3rd : Labor day/no games/practice
September 8th: Closing Jamboree/ Tournament
(Games 9 and 10)
 

Most events will be held at Kingston Park, but other fields are used. Highlands,Westdraw and etc. may be used depending on the age group and the size of the pre-academy.
 
 We will have a season ending tournament held during the jamboree with a random draw and all teams will play 2 games. This day will also be the closing to the summer season.
 
All teams will be able to par-take in family day and picture day on August 18th!

Important League Information

 What does my child need to bring to soccer?

  • Wear appropriate soccer attire
    • Cleats, shin guards, shorts, socks
    • Full uniform to be worn on game days
  • Bring a fully inflated soccer ball
    • U4/5/6 size 3 ball
    • U7 to U11 size 4 ball
    • U12 size 4 ball
  • Plenty of water/ sport drinks to cover entire soccer time

What fields will my child be playing on?

  • U4/5/6/7/8: Kingston 
  • U9/10: Highlands Park and  West Draw 1,2
  • U11/U12: Highlands park and Arbor Meadows Park  
  • What does a typical game look like for my player?
  • U4/5/6: 4v4 without goalies
    • 4 x 6 minute quarters (1 minute water breaks between quarters)
    • Split teams= teams will be divided to have 2 adjacent games playing at one time
    • Coaches WILL BE ON THE FIELDS
    • kick ins will be used
    • GAMES MUST END ON TIME!
  • U7/8: 4v4 (4 field players and a goalie )
    • 2 x 18 minute halves
    • one ref
    • kick ins will be used instead of throw ins
  • U9/10: 6v6 (5 field players and a goalie)
    • 2 x 25 minute halves
    • Coaches stay on sideline- 1 center referee
  • U11: 8v8 (7 field players and a goalie)
    • 2 x 30 minute halves
    • Coaches stay on sideline- 2 referees
  • U12: 8v8 (7 field players and a goalie)
    • 2 x 30 minute halves
    • Coaches stay on sideline- 2 referees

We use small sided games to allow more touches on the ball by the players.  More touches equals more fun!

Heat Index Recommended Guidelines
Up to 89° Normal Play
90° - 99° Mandatory 2-minute water breaks per half with running time.
Each half shortened by 5 minutes.
100° - 105° Mandatory 2-minute water breaks per half with running time.
Each half shortened by 10 minutes.
105°+ Suspend play.
